Registration Fees

All registration prices listed are in U.S. dollars and are per person. If you are registering other people, please make sure they review the Terms & Conditions before you register them. A detailed description of what is included in the conference registration is outlined on the AALL conference registration page.

Retired individuals and students may register for the full conference at discounted rates. Eligibility is based on AALL membership type. Proof of eligibility will be requested for the nonmember retired or student rates.

Full Conference Registration Includes:

  • Access to all conference general sessions and educational programs
  • Admittance to the Exhibit Hall
  • Access to educational program materials
  • Access to exhibitor showcases
  • Admittance to the Opening Reception
  • Access to preconference workshops and library tours (pre-registration that may include an additional fee is required and space is limited to AALL members only)
  • Access to conference coffee/refreshment breaks

Additional Registration Items

These additional registration items must be purchased by June 28, 2024.

CONELL and preconference workshop attendance is limited to active AALL members only. You must be registered for the full conference or a Saturday Single-Day to attend CONELL or a preconference workshop.

SIS Events are open to AALL members only, except where otherwise indicated. Spaces are limited and registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received. You must be registered for the full conference or for the day of the event (single-day registration) to attend.

Library tours are offered during the Annual Meeting to showcase a variety of local libraries. This opportunity is available for AALL members onlyAll tour attendees must be registered for the full conference or for the day of the tour (single-day registration). Government-issued photo IDs are required for all toursAdvance registration is required on a first come, first served basis. Due to the limited availability of participants for most tours, please sign up for only one tour. Transportation will not be provided for any tour. Participants will be sent additional information regarding meeting locations and times closer to the conference. Tours are subject to cancellation if there is insufficient registration.

Association Luncheon tickets for Tuesday, July 23 at 12:30 p.m. may be purchased by June 28 with a full conference registration or a Tuesday Single-Day registration. A limited number of tickets will also be available for purchase on-siteCurrent AALL Champion Members will receive a complimentary Association Luncheon ticketThey will be contacted directly or may contact [email protected] to register.

Tickets for Guests of Conference Participants

Full conference registrants or eligible Single-Day registrants may purchase Opening Reception and/or Association Luncheon tickets for guests (for a fee, see detailed outline on the AALL conference registration page).

Guests may not include someone eligible for membership in AALL, or a business partner or supplier who is not exhibiting at the Conference. AALL reserves the right to review eligibility for guest registration. Guests of attendees are also subject to the Health and Safety Requirements and the Meetings and Events Code of Conduct outlined in the Terms & Conditions. Guest tickets do not include access to conference programs, meetings, workshops, SIS events, or library tours.

Special Registration Packages

Single-Day registrations are subject to the following terms and rates outlined on the AALL conference registration page. Single-Day registrations will have access to the following on the selected day only: Conference general sessions and educational programs; The Exhibit Hall; Educational program materials; Conference coffee/refreshment breaks. Single-Day registrants may add CONELL, a Preconference Workshop, AALL Conference Event(s), SIS Event(s)**, and Library Tour** tickets on the selected day only. **CONELL, Preconference workshops, SIS Events and Library Tours are open to AALL members only.

Exhibit hall only registrations allow access to the exhibit hall only and do not include access to conference programs, meetings, workshops, SIS events, library tours, or any events held outside the exhibit hall.

Payment Policy

Registration fees apply to the individual and cannot be shared among people from the same company. Registrations received without payment will be held until payment is received. Payment must be received in full by the conference date to guarantee entry at the event. Eligibility will be verified for registrations at discounted member rates and nonmember retired/student rates.

Accessibility Needs

Confirmation

All registrants will receive written confirmation/receipt of registration by email. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact Customer Service at 1.877.737.0555 or [email protected].

No Wait-List

All registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received. Once a ticketed workshop or event is full, registration will be closed for that workshop or event. Wait-lists will not be maintained. Do not plan on attending a workshop or event unless it appears in your registration confirmation. If you choose to pay by credit card, your card will be charged only for those items for which you receive a confirmed registration. If you make payment by check after an event is closed, your check will be deposited and a refund of the registration fee for the closed event will be mailed after the Annual Meeting.

Badge Credentials

Registration credentials will not be mailed. You will receive an email confirmation with an easy-scan barcode and look-up instructions prior to the Annual Meeting. PLEASE NOTE: If you request to be invoiced for payment, receipt of full payment is required to ensure access to the conference (see Over/Under Payments below).

Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected].

Refunds will not be given for no-shows and late cancellations. Refunds will be issued in the method of original payment after the Annual Meeting. No refunds will be given after June 28, 2024.

AALL reserves the right to cancel workshops, programs, and events if there is insufficient registration or for any other reason. AALL is not responsible for cancellation charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies, or other losses incurred due to cancellation of workshops, programs, and events.

Substitutions

Substitutions from the same organization are welcome, however the substitute’s registration fee will be adjusted if a nonmember replaces an AALL member. To request a substitution, please submit a written request to [email protected]. On-site substitutions are accepted only if the original registrant has not already checked in to the conference.

Over/Under Payments

If your registration confirmation shows a balance due, your badge will be held for you at the Registration Desk pending remittance of the balance. You will not be able to use your barcode confirmation for express check-in with a balance due. A check or purchase order for the balance should be mailed (along with a copy of your confirmation) to AALL Registration, c/o American Conference Institute, 2 Park Avenue, 20th Floor, New York, NY 10016 by June 28, 2024; or you may call 1.877.737.0555 and authorize the amount to be charged to a credit card.

Health and Safety Requirements

We look forward to convening in Chicago. The health and safety of everyone who attends AALL 2024 is our top priority, and the conference will be held in a safe and clean environment. We are carefully tracking all the latest health and safety guidance for large group gatherings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Illinois Department of Health, and the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

AALL 2024 participants will be required to acknowledge the following statement at the time of registration: REGISTRANT AGREES TO FOLLOW ALL HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES ANNOUNCED BY AALL AND/OR THE FACILITY PRIOR TO AND DURING THE EVENT. REGISTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT THEY ARE ATTENDING AALL 2024 VOLUNTARILY AND ENTIRELY AT THEIR OWN RISK. REGISTRANT RELEASES AND WAIVES EVERY CLAIM OF EVERY KIND AND DESCRIPTION THEY MIGHT HAVE AGAINST AALL and American Conference Institute, Inc. (ACI), AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS FOR ANY AND ALL LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ILLNESS, DAMAGES, OR INJURY WHATSOEVER THAT THEY MAY INCUR IN CONNECTION WITH THEIR ATTENDANCE AT AALL 2024, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, AS A RESULT OF EXPOSURE TO COVID-19 OR THE MANNER IN WHICH AALL 2024 IS CONDUCTED. THE FOREGOING RELEASE AND WAIVER SHALL BE INTERPRETED IN THE BROADEST MANNER. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, SUCH RELEASE AND WAIVER SHALL EXCLUDE AALL AND ACI FROM LIABILITY OF ANY KIND THAT MAY BE BASED ON NEGLIGENT ACTS OR OMISSIONS ON THEIR PART OR BY ANY ONE OR MORE OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENTS.

Meetings and Events Code of Conduct

The American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and harassment-free environment for all participants attending in-person and virtual programs and meetings regardless of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Participants include, but are not limited to, AALL members, attendees, speakers, volunteers, guests, exhibitors, AALL staff, and service providers.

AALL seeks to provide an environment free from any form of discrimination, intimidation, or harassment of participants at programs/events or on AALL social media channels and community platforms related to those meetings. This includes offensive verbal comments related to race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity; inappropriate use of sexual and/or discriminatory language, gestures and imagery in public spaces or presentations, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, and sustained disruption of presentations during sessions, in the exhibit hall, or at other events organized by AALL throughout an in-person or virtual meeting.

All participants are expected to observe the rules and behaviors in AALL’s Meetings and Events Code of Conduct as well as the Harassment and Bullying Free Environment Policy at all conference venues and conference-related events, including online venues and conference social events. Participants asked to stop an uncomfortable, hostile, or harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

AALL reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior experienced virtually or in-person.

Promotional Activities

All registered attendees (members and nonmembers) are prohibited from promoting products, services (that are sold to law libraries), and sales events at the conference. This includes having product sales events at the Headquarter hotels. Promotional activities of this nature are restricted to exhibiting organizations only.

By registering for this AALL conference, you are consenting to receive conference-related communications in addition to sharing your contact information publicly on attendee rosters. You will have the ability to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting [email protected].

Photos and Video

By attending the AALL Annual Meeting & Conference, you agree that AALL, its employees, contractors, and volunteers, may photograph, videotape, or audiotape you during the conference and related activities. Your photo, video, audio, likeness, or image may be used by AALL for promotional or related purposes with no remuneration to you.
